Changing the focus

Image
Hi there to all of my awesome readers!   Yesterday was Christmas day and how exciting it was right? Well, what I want to talk about today is that sometimes during the holiday season we get so caught up in what we're doing (Be it holiday shopping, planning, anxiously waiting to open presents...) that, we forget the real REASON for the SEASON. Let's freeze everything for a minute now, and take a few moments to think. I want to tell all of you what the greatest Christmas present is in this holiday season. The fact that OUR Savior came down to earth as a tiny little helpless baby to die on a cross many years later to save US from OUR sins. Now, as for me and I think as for you guys too, that's the greatest gift anyone could ever give. That's when we change focus, when we realize that what we thought was important was actually keeping us from seeing the big picture, the Christ in CHRISTmas. But this season is not over yet and now is your chance to spread the joy and love of...

Sometimes (or very often) we find ourselves listening to a friend, who heard from another friend, that "saw" your best friend speaking rumors about you. Our first reaction might be, "I can't believe I ever trusted him/her!" Now, HOLD the phone! How do we know if this is true? See, most of the time, we don't even bother figuring out if it is true or not. We just think "Oh well, if people are talking about it so much, then it must surely be true." Sadly, that is how trusts get broken and friendships are ended. But, what if we took another course of action? Let's give that friend a chance, surely there must be a reason behind all this! Maybe everyone has been wrong. That is where our little verse, Proverbs 25:8 comes in. "...If you take your neighbor to court, do not betray another's confidence." What I basically understand from this is, if you are mad someone don't just spill out all the secrets and things they have confided to...

God has a plan.

Things usually happen for a reason. We may not understand it or why it is happening but it is all part of God's plan. How do we know what is GOD'S plan for our lives? There is no exact way to tell but God can reveal a bit of his will to us through prayer, fasting, visions, by speaking to us directly, or even sending us dreams or angels to tell us! But we need to listen closely to actually hear God's voice. His plan may seem like something that we may never know or understand but it is really none of our business! Sometimes he tells us, sometimes he doesn't. WE don't need to know His will. It is something special and unique for everyone. Do you spend a lot of time thinking about your future? Is GOD part of those plans? If not, maybe you might want to start thinking abut some things. MAKE GOD PART OF YOUR FUTURE PLANS! He wants to be there, WITH YOU, every step of the way! Let Him in! Accept the Lord as your Saviour today. -Sarah (If you have a testimony that...

Salvation

Do you ever feel like something is missing in your life? Maybe it's the Holy Spirit giving you conviction of something that simply must be done in your life. Today I want to present to all of you the Plan of Salvation . The Steps of which are pretty simple. Step 1: Get the conviction. Realize your need for a Saviour. Step 2: Pray. Ask the Lord to come into you heart and cleanse it of its impurities.Step 3: Feel free to do it all over again. We are all human and we make mistakes, but the important point is whether we realize it and repent, or we just don't care and go on our way. When I first got saved, I used a pretty simple prayer similar to the one below that might help all of you. "Dear Lord, I realize I have sinned and done wrongdoings, but I have heard and learned and I want to have a life for you to be pure in my heart and reflect your character. I believe you are my Savior, change my life Lord! In Jesus' Name, Amen." If you still have some doubts this Bib...

I know how you feel. In the midst of all your friends, family members, neighbors, and other people their influences get to you. Sometimes it is really hard trying to stay firm and act like a Godly teenager would. But it seems like that bad influence or that one person that you think has a life goal to drive you nuts makes you go crazy without your wanting to. There is only one solution to this particular problem. Step 1: Pray. It is important to have the Lord's guidance in every decision you make. Step 2: Read the Bible. The Bible is the most precious book you can ever posess. Read it. Learn from it. Love it. Step 3: Apply what you learned. Sometimes when we re-read the Bible we find things in it that we did not see the last time. Take those things that you learned and try your best to apply it to your everyday life. Step 4: DON'T BE AFRAID TO STAND OUT FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN. The reason why a lot of teens and tweens don't dare say a word to anyone about what they believe...

The Tower of Babel

The Tower of Babel The lesson we learned at church today was about the Tower of Babel. Babel means confusion. The Bible is not a book of fairy tales, everything in it is true. The book of Genesis in particular mostly speaks of our beginnings. We didn't just pop out of an explosion and said,"Here I am!" Or evolutioned from apes. The book of Genesis is very clear that everything that is or was had been created by Someone. Things don't appear out of thin air. In the book of Genesis we see that God created Adam and Eve because of the serpent they sinned and got cast out of the Garden of Eden and from that point on, things went very wrong people started rebelling against God and doing evil things that did not please Him. And then the wrath of God was upon them, He decided that He would destroy this creation (of man) an start a new one . But amongst those people God saw Noah and because of ONE man and his family whose hearts were pure , we weren't all destroyed God in...

Responses

Responses. How do you respond to a situation? The reason why I bring this theme is that nowdays we are faced daily with challenges, situations, problems, or conflicts that put us in an uncofortable position and if we do not know how to respond accurately, things may not go so well. Let me tell you a recent personal story, A few weeks back I was looking for a groomer for my two Shih-tzu puppies and on my way home from running errands I see this van which is a mobile groomer that goes to your house I wrote down the number and when I got home I called it. Now, this is not the point. When the guy arrived a few days later my pups had a couple of small knots that could be easily treated with a brushing. Long story short, He shaved off the hair in their ears, face, and tail. (You may not know this but Shih-tzu's have long hair in all of those areas) The man never asked us if they had allergies or made us sign a contract of anything so if we wanted to sue him we could. I'm just giv...

Hi everyone! Today I have a reflection for all of you. At church the Pastor spoke about the house on the rock. And it got me thinking, In which foundation are we building our lives upon? Are we building our lives in the sand but when the wind, rain, and flooding waters come we tumle and our house lies in ruins, or did we seek the Lord's guidance and believed not in our own strength but in His and we built our lives (house) upon the Rock the Lord Jesus and when the wind, rain, and flooding waters come, your house stands. 1 Corinthians 3:11 states, "For other foundation can no man lay that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." (King James Version)  That means no one can put up another foundation because there is none other. Our foundation is Jesus Christ, Prayer, and The Bible. Now, to leave you thinking, are building your foundation on the Bible, Jesus Christ, and Prayer or are building it on men? -Sarah
